Lucky is a 30 year old quarter horse and the oldest resident at the sanctuary.  He arrived here in 2009 after he was discovered at a sales lot saddled to be ridden.  Lucky had fractured his kneecap in his younger days and the fracture had never been tended to.  The couple that discovered him managed to convince the owner to let them take him, and when they got home, asked us if we would be interested in giving him a home.

Even though his knee looks terrible, he runs and rolls and plays with the other horses.  He has gone partially blind in both eyes but gets along with no problem.
